2024 Prom Night Review

The Met Gala themed Prom was definitely a night to remember.

Walking into the prom was a surreal experience since I am a senior and I was with my boyfriend. So going to prom for the first time as a senior was nice.

First walking in you got checked in then there is a red-carpet walkway for a photo-op. Stepping into the actual room where all the action was happening the first thing you see is a dance floor and tables on opposite ends of the dance floor.

There were refreshments in the back right corner, the back left corner had a Photo Booth and the and the front left corner had handheld samplers.

In the beginning they gave out awards like “best dressed couple”, “best dressed girl and boy” etc. While the evening was winding down a bit prom king and queen were announced, and they did the traditional dance while the couples joined in afterwards.

After that the step team took the floor and gave us a sneak peek of what they’ve been up to, which was nice since Lakewood has never had a step team before especially since it was something different. Unfortunately, that was the last performance I saw since I left around 10:15.

Everyone looked amazing. For most of us it was our senior prom, so it felt good to have nice solid experience and everyone was nice and not with my drama. The prom pretty much met my expectations other than not thinking the food would be good. My first and last senior prom was good, and I would do it again.

The downside of the prom was that the fact that it was somewhat of struggle to find the right place because you had to pay for parking but there was two separate parts where you had to park and but the actual place where you could pull in and just take pictures and stuff. Even though it took a while taking pictures it was nice to have a view outside of the theater and the room was big enough to fit everyone, but it definitely was shoulder to shoulder.

Overall, I would rate my experience in prom a 7.5/10, I feel like the vibes were there, but it seemed like something was missing but it was nice to see a lot of people outside of school and see how they were in a different environment. I would give the food a 10/10 it was amazing especially the chicken tenders, there were only handhelds there but it was nice to not have that much food so it wouldn’t be messy. Lastly everyone looked amazing. For most of us it was our senior prom, so it felt good to have nice solid experience and everyone was nice.
