The newly elected SGA officers within the first round of elections include President Katrina Williams, Vice President Aniya Cason, and Secretary Sumayah McIntosh.
SGA is an important aspect of high school for Seniors since they can participate in decision-making for events such as prom, senior trips, and senior week activities.
Although SGA has just started, we have already seen an announcement of this year’s homecoming theme A Night of Stars, preparation for the annual senior breakfast, and multiple shirt designs for the class of 2025.
SGA may be perceived as an opportunity for seniors to be involved but that’s not the case this year at Lakewood. SGA positions are also offered to sophomores and juniors, a great opportunity for those who aren’t seniors to become involved and known in case they would like to run during their senior year.
Not only that, but something new being offered this year is Freshmen SGA.
