Social studies teacher, Kenny Fedrick, is the newest addition to Lakewood High School

He uses his degrees and experiences to be an amazing coach and teacher.

Kenny Fedrick is a new addition to the Lakewood High School staff. He has multiple roles at Lakewood including teaching world history and economics, as well as coaching the baseball team.

His journey into teaching and coaching is a deep passion for both education and athletics because of his drive to make a difference on childrens’ lives.

Originally from Ohio, Fedrick attended the University of Indianapolis in Indiana, where he pursued his degree in psychology with a minor in history. While in college, Fedrick excelled academically and found his place on the baseball field playing center field, fueling his love for the sport.

After he graduated college, Fedrick made his way to St. Petersburg, FL, around 10 years ago. He decided to move to Florida mainly because of weather.

“The best thing about St. Petersburg is that there is no snow,” Fedrick said.

Fedrick said he quickly found his place at Lakewood High School. He now imparts his knowledge to young minds. His drive to inspire the next generation gave him the push to teach and coach high school.

Fedrick shows the full spirit of a dedicated educator and coach. Driven by a genuine love for teaching, coaching, and making a difference in his students’ lives.

His approach and techniques are strictly psychology, using those techniques not only in the classroom, but also out on the field to get players to have a whole new perspective on things. As a teacher at Lakewood High School, his commitment to growth is crucial in his vision for the future as he plans to continue to teach and coach at Lakewood.

The future shines bright with possibilities as he continues to inspire and motivate his students and players.

“I see us winning some state titles,” Fedrick said.
