Last night, incoming freshman of the 2024 school year gathered in the Lakewood High School auditorium for Incoming Freshman Night. The events of this night – starting at 6 p.m. – were led by Assistant Principal Joseph Serra along with the assistance of multiple guidance counselors, other assistant principals and a variety of teachers. Incoming Freshman Night was to create and change schedules for these future Spartans.

Serra’s speech and instructional presentation began at 6:30 p.m., though many families arrived a half-hour earlier for student led campus tours, to explore different programs and club info tables in the auditorium and meet other freshmen students and families. The presentation itself covered electives, programs, reading schedules and small group question-and-answer and general help sessions.

“It’s always exciting to welcome a new freshman class and get them going on their journey,” Assistant principal Tequena Akintnde said.
