After four years at Lakewood, seniors got to experience a trip that they looked forward to throughout high school, Grad Bash.
Grad Bash is an event where seniors get to visit Universal Studios at nighttime along with many other high schools, making it more enjoyable.
As far as Lakewood, we got to Universal around 8 P.M. and left at around 1:30 A.M. Which is a con for me, as I wish we had got there a little earlier as there was plenty of traffic along with long wait times for roller coasters.
However, it was nice being at a theme park late at night with people my age, making Grad Bash known for what it is.
Some of my favorite moments from Grad Bash was getting matching Agnes’ unicorn slippers, the walk back to the bus as everyone was rushing trying to get back to the bus and riding “The Mummy” as people kept skipping the line causing people to argue while waiting for the ride.
“My Grad Bash experience was great. My favorite moment was riding The Mummy roller coaster and buying things at the park shops,” Senior Jaylin Keith said.
One thing that I did find shocking at Grad Bash was the pricing of the food. The pricing of food did not seem high compared to other theme parks I have been to such as Busch Gardens and Six Flags.
I ended up having a Grilled Chicken BLT from Richter’s Burger Company along with some fries and a nice class of 2025 souvenir cup. I also tried the big pink donut. I split it among two of my friends and ended up being fulfilling for all of us, however the texture of the donut seemed to be a bit dry.
Overall, I would rate Grad Bash 2025 a solid eight out of ten. I enjoyed spending time with my friends as this is a high school event, however a downside for me would definitely be the long wait times for the roller coasters.
This was one of many senior events. This Week April 22 through April 25, Lakewood celebrated its senior week.
Some events throughout the week include a trip to Sunrise Lanes, Senior Breakfast which had a theme of “All Around the World” and a field day. As far as dress up days there was country vs. country club, bikers vs. surfers and grandparents or first day of kindergarten.
