One of Them Days is a chaotic yet entertaining comedy-drama that perfectly captures the unpredictable nature of life when everything seems to go wrong.
Two close friends struggle to get rent money after one of the friends gives her boyfriend the rent money to give to the landlord, as expected he doesn’t follow through.
As this creates a heated argument between the friends the boyfriend sneaks out and tries to lay low as he is aware of what he did, however more problems await.
The landlord gives them an eviction warning to get the money by 6 P.M. or else they will be kicked out. They try their best to get the money but if it isn’t one thing it’s another.
The two friends try everything such as donating plasma, try to take out a loan and sell sneakers that they found on street wires.
The rent was the problem at first, but the sneakers belonged to someone important in the neighborhood and since he had found out the sneakers had been sold, he wanted the market price for the sneakers which was a whopping $5000.
So now the focus is off the rent as they are now focused on getting the money back for the sneakers as they face a life-or-death situation.
Along with these problems at hand one of the friends has a job interview for a manager position at 4 P.M. The interview went great, and she ended up being one of the most experienced candidates but towards the end of the interview she notices her friend getting beat up outside and she ends up leaving throughout the interview to defend her friend. As expected, she did not get the job due to her unprofessional.
Despite all these problems, they did end up getting the money for the sneakers and although they weren’t able to get the apartment back a family member allowed them to crash with them as long as possible.
I really enjoyed this movie as it was very funny as well as informative just in case, I ever find myself in this situation. I would definitely rate the movie a 10/10 and recommend it to anyone looking for a good laugh.
