Lakewood High School hosted its first ever cookout event Nov. 11 during 7th period at the football field. Students that had 75 PBIS points and purchased the cookout event were allowed to go to this cookout.
With the PBIS rewards system being implemented this 2023-2024 school year there are monthly events hosted by administrator Allison Biloski along with the MTSS coaches.
The PBIS team decided to do a cookout this month since Thanksgiving is in the month of November and what better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than being with your friends and family eating appetizing food.
At this cookout students will have the choice to choose from hot dogs, hamburgers or cheeseburgers, baked beans, cookies, and a soda. Around 130 students have purchased to go to this cookout which they had purchased through the PBIS rewards website.
Students around campus have been excited about the cookout mainly because they get to be out of class, and they like to eat.
“I love to have fun with the students and you guys deserve to have fun events because you work hard every day,” Biloski said.
After the event students felt like they should have had games and activities outside to make the event more entertaining and longer as it was pretty brief along with more food selections.
Make sure to save some points because there will be a hot cocoa and smores event next month!
