MultiVersus is a crossover fighting game that is free to play released in July, 2022, as a public beta game and got fully published by Player First Games and developed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in August. The game features many characters from various platforms and catalogs such as DC comics, HBO, Adult Swim, Turner Entertainment and Cartoon Network. MultiVersus was announced in November 2021 after many rumors and leaks spread online.

The game launched with 17 characters, and 16 out of 17 came from nine Warner Bros. Discovery-owned franchises.  Every character comes in five roles or classes: Assassin, Bruiser, Mage, Support and Tank. These characters have “Horizontal” and “Vertical” attacks, a well-known game mechanic in games such as Super Smash Bros. In MultiVersus, you can put characters together that you would never imagine partnering up or fighting each other, such as Batman from DC Comics against Shaggy from Scooby-Doo or Scooby-Doo against Morty from Rick and Morty. Some of the well-known characters in this game include Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty, the cast of Scooby-Doo, basketball star LeBron James and so many more.

The game is classified in Super-Smash Bros. format because of the various stages the players can play on. MultiVersus is a fun game to play with friends because the game is mainly played in a 2-vs-2 format but if you want to fight man to man there is also a 1-vs-1 mode and if you and your friends to cause mayhem, there is the free-for-all option. There is a perk system in the game as well. This means that players can give their characters unique abilities or advantages that help the individual player or their partner as well.

Overall, the game is a very fun game to play with friends and family because you’re able to get into very hectic and fun mayhem. I rate the game a 5/5.
